Edward Waters College offers programming and services for faculty, staff, students, and management to support diversity, inclusiveness, equal access, equitable treatment, and cultural understanding and competency. We offer training and consultation on achieving and supporting diversity in the workplace, on Americans with Disabilities Act issues, and on preventing and resolving discrimination and discriminatory harassment.
The Edward Waters College Office of Counseling and Disability Services is confidential, safe and friendly atmosphere for students, faculty and staff. We provide a variety of ongoing services, support and assistance for personal, academic and developmental issues, which impact the overall learning environment of students.
The Office of the Registrar serves as the official repository for all student academic records. It is also responsible for the oversight of all registration and enrollment services provided to our students. The Registrar’s Office also processes transcript requests and enrollment verification, and fulfills many other types of requests for student information. The Registrar certifies graduation and program completion, issues diplomas, and sets and upholds academic policy.
TEdward Waters University views all student financial assistance as an investment in the future of our students. The EWC Library is housed on the first floor of the Centennial Building. It contains approximately 13,350 print volumes and provides access to over 259,000 electronic books (e-books). The Library also subscribes to 61 print periodicals.
TRiO is a set of federally funded, college–based, educational opportunity outreach programs that motivate and support students from low-income backgrounds, military veterans, and students with disabilities. TRIO provides academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and support services to over 800,000 middle and post-graduate students to help promote college access, retention, and graduation percentages.
The Tiger Center for Academic Persistence and Success is where you will find assistance with your academic journey here at EWC. Our primary goal is to partner with you through your academic career, and to assist you with achieving your college degree. TCAPS provides you with ongoing academic advising and academic support.
The Writing Center at Edward Waters College is more than just a computer lab. The center provides academic support for students at all stages of the writing process.
Located inside the Office of the Registrar the Veterans Services Center’s mission is to assists military members, veterans, and dependent students take advantage of the numerous education opportunities by connecting them to their VA Education Benefits and any support services necessary for their academic, professional and personal success while here at Edward Waters.
The importance of being able to communicate effectively cannot be overstated. Utilizing correct grammar is important, as it ensures your meaning is clear and increases your credibility. Using bad grammar distracts from your message and makes it easier to dismiss.
Consider using the following applications to catch many of those grammar or spelling mistakes that can hurt your grade (or even professional image).
Grammarly is an online proofing tool that allows you to check your writing for misspellings or grammatical issues. You can either paste your text into the Grammarly website or install the free browser extension for the Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers.
Microsoft Editor is an online proofing tool that allows you to check your writing for misspellings or grammatical issues. There is a free version with plug-ins for the Edge and Chrome browsers.
There are other free tools available online. Don't forget to use the grammar and spelling checkers that are in Microsoft Word as well.
